After spending a long hot morning in an industrial park in Ventura while the RT was being serviced (where JoJo and Mitch walked me around a neighborhood with a lot of angry junkyard dogs barking at me) we finally left for sandier pastures. We scooted down the PCH (Rt 1) and an hour or so later arrived in Malibu. Talk about a 180 degree turnaround. Bow Wow, this is the life!
First order of things was to drop off my bed and toys at Kim and Andres’ house. Kim is Joanne’s daughter so I guess that makes her my human sister of sorts. What a great house and there is a another dog there- Benson.
Ok, now its beach time where I can show those surfers how to really attack the waves. I had been in the ocean before but this gave me a few days to get really good at riding the waves. Of course then I had to get all of the sand hosed off of me. Did you ever get sand in your bathing suit? Imagine a double coat of fur and I have those chubby legs and belly.
Kim and Andres are very nice to me. Kim gave me some honeydew melon (yumm) and gave me a good shampoo and Andres taught me some new words like “ahwhoo.” He and Benson have interesting conversations. I never heard a human speak such good dog language.
Mitch took me to check out the car wash place near the Country Mart, which had a lot of good smelling outdoor restaurants with many food droppings on the ground that Mitch made me “Leave IT”. On Saturday I went on a hike with Mitch and on Sunday we took a another hike with cousin Elinor (yes folks, Mitch has even more cousins), her husband Seth, their son Joey (who rubbed my belly), and their dog Kavenna. This hike took us to a beautiful park overlooking the Pacific.
Sunday evening Kim, Andres and Benson went back to their new house in Santa Monica
and we went to visit our friends Larry and Cindy in Calabasas.
