We got back in the Roadtrek which were filled with had ants that came from trees brushing against the RT when parked in Malibu. We headed to Vista which is just north of San Diego for a visit with Mitch’s Uncle Henry (“Hank”) and Aunt Mae. On the way we had the van washed and cleaned after much nagging from Joanne.  We arrived to find Hank and Mae waiting out front, very excited to see us, and especially Apollo. Hank loves dogs and he and Apollo bonded quickly. They live in a lovely neighborhood and Hank knows everyone including all the dogs. He has a list of all the dogs’ names and has a box of treats for their daily visits.

We took a long hike in the afternoon in a nature park about a mile from their house and returned for a terrific dinner of bean soup, salmon, and veggies. Mae is an excellent cook. We were joined by Mitch’s cousin Gary who is a dentist and lives in nearby Carlsbad.
