After the small but intense Valley of Fire, where we felt intimate with the surroundings, Zion Canyon was a bit overwhelming. Also, it was crowded, since we arrived the first day the park was open after the government shutdown. Anyway, we made our way around the steep cliffs and sheer drop offs along with every type of vehicle from speedy roadsters to big rigs. It was, at times, harrowing but we persevered and were able to see some magnificent scenery and take some interesting photos.
