After two days in the Roadtrek, we were anxious to get our feet on to a hiking trail. The National Parks do not allow dogs on their unpaved trails and we were limited to short rim walks with Apollo. We decided to visit Escalante to find a hike we could take Apollo on. We ended up at Kodachrome State Park, a charming spot overlooking the Grand Staircase. It proved to be a great experience albeit a bit busy since Utah was celebrating Outdoor Environmental Education Week and families were out in force. It was a good thing.

At the end of the day we returned to Bryce for an excellent sunset and a delicious meal at the Sunset Lodge where we celebrated Joanne’s birthday. We were like the two love birds (Ravens).
