We reached the Texas border and decided to put much of this huge state under our belt. Our goal was to reach Abilene by the end of the day. After 5 hours of driving we made an important detour to Lubbock, Texas, where we visited the grave of Buddy Holly.(His family name is Holley).We camped that night in a lovely Pecan Grove in Abilene State Park in Tuscola, TX. We were the only ones there.
