We are off again, the three of us. Our plan is to travel across Canada through the Canadian Rockies and into British Columbia. We left Ringwood at 7 AM on Sunday September 14 and arrived 6 hours later in Kingston Ontario where we bought a Sim card from Telus (one of the big Canadian providers) so we can stay connected to you while we are in Canada. Our IPhone will serve as a hotspot when tethered to our computer and save us from Verizon’s astronomical roaming charges. So far so good.

The first night we stayed at the Rideau Acres RV Park which, in addition to regular campers, had a large number of seasonal tenants living in semi-permanent structures with decks, sheds and gardens. Located on a small bay off Lake Superior, the park had a small farm with ducks, geese, chickens, and peacocks. They run a banquet hall that caters weddings and also serves family meals for the tenants. It was a good stopover and interesting to see how some Canadians like to spend their summers. It felt very 1950’s.
