Shell mounds: Dating back 6,000 years Native American coastal people have been using oyster and clam shells for landfill upon which to build temples and for sacred burial sites as well as for  living places. We visited these sacred shell mounds in Crystal Springs. Today Crystal Springs Harbor is a simple working waterfront
