Sept. 3rd
We left Ringwood at 1 PM. It was an easy 300 mile drive to Cook Forest State Park near Cooksburg in Western PA where it was cool and overcast by the time we arrived at 6 PM. We had a problem with the Roadtrek’s propane line so dinner had to be made in the microwave. Fortunately we brought homemade meatballs, added a can of tomato sauce and voila, dinner. Great for two anti-microwave people. We read our Kindles and fell asleep early in our cozy bed.
We woke up to a beautiful, sunny morning and took a hike in the last Eastern old growth hardwood forest we will see for a long time. Some of the trees there are more than 450 years old, and many in the 350 year range. The early stages of the 8,500 acre park were built during the Depression by the Civilian Conservation Corps. More kudos for the CCC!

looks like you are on one great adventure. have a wonderful trip ,and keep the post coming.
Good thing you brought those winter jackets. It was 42 degrees here this morning so it was probably colder where you are.
