This is a place that never changes. Mitch was first here 50 years ago and we have passed through a few times more recently. It still has the small fishing village feel to it although it is clearly a tourist hub in the summer. The big constant is THE BIG MORRO ROCK that sits just off shore.
We camped in the Morro Bay State Park which offers campers a very pleasant experience- trails leading up to scenic overlooks, various birds with the alpha Kingfishers squawking in the trees, and a short walk to the shoreline to witness the barking sea lions. We cooked dinner over an open fire.
