We put in a long day, traveling from Vista, CA to Sedona, AZ and were rewarded with a very pleasant campground within the town, convenient to everything and yet secluded. It was late when we arrived; we set up quickly, made a fresh salmon dinner, and went right to sleep. The next day we chose a hike — there are so many hikes to choose from here in these red mountains – and made for the Huckaby Trail, 2.8 miles in and 2.8 miles back. The destination was Oak Creek Canyon and the Midgley Bridge. Typical of Sedona, the scenery was spectacular. Later in the afternoon we paid a visit to one of the many spiritual vortexes that populate Sedona. Mitch, always the skeptic, failed to get in touch with his feminine side and left unimpressed, but thought he might join the local Church of Religious Science which had a beautify church next to our campgrounds. We wound up the day with dinner at the Taos Cantina. Sedona is quite dog friendly and Apollo was able to join us in this days’ adventures.

I can’t believe Mitch couldn’t get in touch with his feminine side. That must’ve been a typo! I love the hat, it’s very you Mitch! Looks like your trip is still yielding a lot of great experiences. Keep trekking…
